![]() Elle's DoorThis is a double sided door for multiple scene changes. This side had hand mixed shades of pink for any of Elle's rooms. | ![]() Opposite SideThe other side of the door has wood-grain with a dark brown. This is in front of Dewey's place and other door needs. |
---|---|
![]() DresserThis is the pink dresser, used in Elle's room. Same hand-mixed pink as the door. | ![]() Paulette's SalonThis is the reversible desk. We needed a quick scene change table with a removable mirror for the salon. We took the pink dresser for Elle's room, a hula hoop spray-painted silver, and we velcroed the mirror to the back of the dresser. |

![]() Inside the CottageIn Sleeping Beauty we had a cottage scene that needed to be changed over quickly, so I only made 2 of the flats reversible. The cottage was based off of cartoon pictures similar to those in the movie. | ![]() Maleficent's LairMaleficent's Lair was a challenge because of the amount of stone. Again the design was based off of cartoon pictures, this time of dungeons. |

![]() PerformanceThe kids had a great show! |
Bat Boy: The Musical
Directed by John Schmor
Produced by the University of Oregon
Music and Lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe
Book by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming
Built and painted by Tori Dewar and Jerry Hooker
![]() Bat Boy SetI assisted in painting most of the wooden structure. My main job was aged wood, but I did help build chunks of this set. | ![]() TowerThe wood was a hand-crafted burnt orange and dark brown, side by side and then wet blended together. The grain was a grey layer on top. |
---|---|
![]() The main challenge was getting to all of the areas that needed painting; the set was so open that most sufaces were vulnerable to sight lines. | ![]() Initial stepThe box that these stairs are attached to was a construction project completed entirely by myself. I helped with pieces throughout the set but this was my first project alone. |
![]() CageEntirely painted by myself, same wood work and graining as the rest of the set. | ![]() Bat Boy in Production |
Arabian Nights
Directed by Michael Najjar
Produced by the University of Oregon
Adapted by Dominic Cooke
Floor painting by Tori Dewar and Jerry Hooker
![]() Arabian NightsExtensive project with a large amount of stencil work. Each platform had its own rug or mosaic style, which was then rimmed with a final stencil pattern. | ![]() Arabian Walls part 1The original wall is a two-color scumble to resemble parchment with pictures of stories painted in rough brush texture (Jerry Hooker) |
---|---|
![]() Arabian WallsThe color on the walls are the inside sections of flaps over doorways and windows. Each had multiple stencil designs to match those on the floor. |
